Try using Lucky patcher (on a rooted phone)
After patching you should see an option >apply odex cache to app
Use that option
You game progress should still be intact

I recommend you to use CC [Cheat codes] only if the game is installed
i use CC for 80% of my games.

ay, dont forget that package installer will "Install as an update"
So you dont need backup, it will keep old data.

wtf Cheat codes doesn't need rooting, you just need the Cheat Code Keyboard for typing cheats, you'll just search for the game cheat codes online.
