ROBOCOP: REMASTERED



RoboCop is a mobile game based on the 2014 movie with the same name. The player controls Alex Murphy through the OmniCorp OCP simulation training to become RoboCop. The game is a third person cover based shooter similar to other Glu Mobile games such as the Frontline Commando series. In each of the game's mission the objective is simply to take out a number of bad guys. There's no free movement but the player can jump between certain covers. The controls are simple: the left side of the screen is used to aim while the right side is used to shoot. Once a group of thugs have been defeated RoboCop automatically moves forward to the next part of the level where the action continues. Covers are destroyable and barrels and cars explode when shot at. In addition to the regular shooting the player can also enter focus mode to perform a powerful attack that takes out three enemies at once. It's also possible to call in drones that help with clearing out enemies. There is also a scan function that allows the player to see enemy positions and weak points. Most enemies are ordinary thugs but there are also snipers and robots.
Armour and weapons can be upgraded along a tech tree consisting of nodes. Attributes that can be improved include damage, accuracy, rate of fire and overheat time for weapons and health and focus mode for armour. The player also earns experience for completing missions which allow him to level up his character. There are three different currencies in the game: research points and money is earned by doing missions while gold can be bought. Research points are needed to clear breakthrough nodes that open up new paths in the tech tree while money or gold is used to unlock upgrades. There's also a store where money and gold can be used to buy new weapons, suites and specials such as drones and repair kits.
