No single genre in video games lets us do exactly this - in exactly the way we want - like role-playing games, building characters based on experience earned in the game, scaling combat based on the statistics of weapons, armor and abilities, making decisions - good or bad - that impact the game world. These core fundamentals make up the heart and soul of theRPG, and it is with these values to share with you my Top 10 Favourite Java RPGs
10-Gnautlet:
A classic arcade conversion that fits the mobile like a glove. Gauntlet is a swords and sorcery game that casts you as either an Elf, Warrior, Wizard or Valkyrie and sees you descend into dungeons packed full of increasingly tough enemies with only your wits, sharp-edged weaponry and the occasional magic potion to help you progress.
09-Gothic 3-The Begining:
Gothic 3 will take you over hours to hack through - and backed up by workable controls, some great audio, and gameplay mechanics that do very well at roping you in a fantasy world.
08-Might & Magic 2:
Might and Magic 2 offers such a vast world, such an epic quest, and is so superbly realised, that you'll often overlook the fact you're 'just' playing a mobile game
07- Knight Tales-Land of Bitterness:
Knight Tales is as pretty as any mobile RPG out there. The characters and bosses are well animated and there's plenty of variety in the environments as you explore. There's a nifty themetune jollying along the overall quest, too, and a few other tunes for new areas and boss fights
06-Blades & Magic 3D:
Stunning RPG that demands to be played. It's got everything to create the kind of mobile gaming experience you'll remember in years to come. It's all fairly standard fantasy fare, with orcs, dragons, and dwarfs aplenty
05-Holy Wars:
Holy Wars is more of a swashbuckling medieval epic than some fundamentalist tract. A pair of Holy Knights, Cain and Abel, are on a mission to unite rival factions in a war-torn land. This involves plenty of of side-scrolling and beat-'em-upping, hacking 'n' slashing their way through an endless procession of assassins, mercenaries, and strange beasts
04-Dungeon Hunter 3:
Dungeon Hunter 3 - a game with enough wizards and monsters to fill a generic fantasy tome, However, the core components of the game are what most people are really interested in. Here Dungeon Hunter 3 does a good job of replicating precisely the mechanics of your average dungeon-crawler
03-Saint Stone- Knights Legend:
An adventure in the style of Legend of Zelda. Saint Stone Knights Legend is an action RPG for mobile that has great graphics, very good soundtrack, equips, spells. Everything! As a fantasy the story is still very good. Mandatory for fans of RPG / action
02-Heroes Lore- Zero:
Much has been speculated that the Chinese version released much much earlier but later received an English version. Heroes Lore Zero is an excellent and complete RPG for mobile. A great experience that leaves you with the feeling like playing an old school console title
01-Heroes Lore-Wind of Soltia:
And here's our winner. Heroes Lore: Winds of Soltia! Its not only to be the most successful, but for all that it represents. The game is a landmark in mobile gaming and dug deep roots in RPG era, becoming a beloved series and known even by those who never played on mobile
P.S
This thread is based on totally personal opinion, if you like other RPG's then please share wisely.....;-)
