¿What is going on Myanar?
¿Anyone from Myannar? I've heard Myannar has recently suffered a military coup, ¿what's going on there?

This worries me, as my country (Brazil) got one in 1964, after a U.S. CIA operation in Latin America, and we had many massacres and state's terrorism crimes until 1985, torturers and military criminals were not punished after the democratization, and we are now facing negationists wanting the military regime back and a new coup threat from Bolsonaro and the military ahead
I don't know the political conditions on Myannar, so i can't say it's the same thing we had on here before, but it's still shocking.

In my opinion, Myanmar deserves it. They killed Rohingyas brutally and forced them to leave their country before. Now the fruit of their hardwork, tit for tat...I'm from Bangladesh. Now, Rohingyas are with us; staying as refugees.

But if Rohingyas people are oppressed on this country, ¿would not it be even worse for the remaining ones under a military dictatorship? (not speculating Myannar is under one, i don't know its political conditions)
On here, indigneous people suffered much more during military dictatorship than what they suffer (a lot) on current's liberal democracy

RE: ¿What is going on Myanar?
The president and the prime minister isn't that different than the militaries. The militaries chopped Rohingyas for only being muslims. The government tried to prove them mythically our citizens. They raped rohingya ladies without any kind of hesitation. Now, I think, it's just a drama happening with both of the party acting together.

RE: ¿What is going on Myanar?
The government only wanted to expel Rohingyas, the historical native people of Myanmar. So, they punched unimaginable oppression on them. It's a communal riot. No country interest there. They only gave two options : die or flee away.
Bye the way, Rohingyas are doing just a bit less than terrorism here. Killing our men, robbing, cutting down trees, digging hills and uplands etc...oh gosh! Though we have nothing to do. Our constitution forbids us from protesting against them. They are powerful refugees. It's bad, god!

They're stateless people, and so as they had an oppressed past and lives in poverty, they do what they can do anarchic to survive. This is why in my country criminality have one of the greatests rates, while poverty are also high, and this just got even worse with neoliberalism politics making the criminality to increase even more - ¡and this to don't count police brutality! And then people are so used to being killed all day, to the violence, that it even reflects the pandemic we have today: our government just abandon us legitimated by the neoliberal 'small state' speech, so we have the highest deaths-per-day by COVID-19, and people just don't care, because they're used to die. This is just a "little ill" afterall.

So this is why the state must have a social role and should recognize them as citizens and provide these people (and all the people in the country) safety, housing, job, healthcare, welfare, education and recreation. Or else, by abandoning the people and letting them to their own lucky, you will only get even worst conditions, so it'll grow xenophobia and fear between the people, you'll spread the problems to neighbor countries and you'll have problems like what you see on Myanmar now

RE: ¿What is going on Myanar?
I don't know much about Brazil. But heard about crime matters happening there. Another point is, our government is delivering them a huge amount of relief. Even, they are encouraging us to give Rohingyas our cultivatable lands or non. But there's a weird problem. Our illiterate and ignorant people are buying relief packs from them at a very low cost and the buyers are selling the 'not for sale' goods to us at a low profit! So lame. It's really a deep crisis, which will eat us at near future, i reckon.
