A game of darts is played by two players, who take turns at throwing up to three darts.

The players start at a set score, this can be 301, 501 or 701. Each player has to reduce their score by deducting the amount of points they score with each dart until they reach zero.

To finish each game (or leg) the player's final dart must score a double or bulls eye to reduce their score to zero. If they exceed the set score or cannot finish with a double they have 'bust' and their throw is over. Their score is reset to what it was at the start of that throw.

A game is made up of a number of legs. The game is either a single leg or best of 3, 5, 7 or 9 legs.
